The story of Anabasis by Xenophon applied to the New York streets and its gangs of the 70′s. The leader of the largest gang, Cyrus, is shot during a passionate speech to unite all the gangs from the different burroughs in NY city. The Warriors are blamed for it and are forced to go on the run in order to survive and prove their innocence.
Each gang has its own dress codes and style and luckily the gangs aren’t scarce in this motion-picture. Often the gangs that don’t play a significant part in the storyline are best dressed here, like the asian crew in green work-shirts and their brown pilot hats or the ‘Electric Eliminators’ in their Levi’s jeans with logo embroidery on the back of their bomber jacks. And I love the 70′s Lee 101J jacket of the girl in Canadian tuxedo. Enjoy a few of the best here but keep in mind the movie has more to offer.
