The Breakfast Club (1985)

The highschool classic by John Hughes, who apparently wrote the script in two days. In a way this is reflected in the movie itself for all the clichés it contains. However all of the five characters really have their own personality and style which makes their interaction fun and interesting to watch, although it gets a little too dramatic near the end.

There is Claire, the princess, who was actually fully styled in Ralph lauren clothes because it fitted her character. To me her leather jacket is the best item in all of the movie, I like it a lot. Although the varsity jacket without the elastic waist worn by Emilio Estevez comes close. A fact I like about Estevez is that he chose his given name for acting and not adapted his fathers (Martin Sheen) stage-name, because he wanted to be successful on his own – unlike his brother Charlie.

Bender, the criminal, is keen on his style with his Levi’s 557 jacket, red-check flannel shirt and his white thermal t-shirt. He completed it with what looks like some bandana covered Red Wing Engineer boots, while Brian is sporting his Nike Internationalists underneath his khaki’s.

I always loved AMH’s green sweater in that movie.
